Seminarian
Support
Gethsemane's passion for
outreach becomes
personal in regard to
seminarian support. Each
year Gethsemane sponsors
one--or
more--individuals
preparing to serve the
church as full-time,
ordained ministers.
Gethsemane's CFC is the
primary force behind
this important ministry.
Under their leadership,
Gethsemane holds special
"Hot Dog Luncheons"
several times a year.
"Noisy Sundays" provide
opportunities for
members to contribute
their spare "noisy"
change to support
seminarians. Other
activities and donations
help provide thousands
of dollars of support
for seminarians. The
Herr Endowment Fund
is also available to
help support seminarians
from Gethsemane.
Gethsemane has realized
great joy in this
ministry. Past
seminarians who are now
pastors include, among
others, Rev. Howard
Travis, Pastor of St.
John Lutheran, West
Branch, Michigan and
Rev. Greg Sonnenschein.
Currently Gethsemane is
supporting two
seminarians, both of
Concordia Theological
Seminary, Fort Wayne,
Indiana. Seminarian
Andrew Richard and Lance
Klamer, both in their
second year at CTS.
Gethsemane continues to
pray for and support
these and other
seminarians as part of
our ministry of
outreach.

How
can they
believe in the one of
whom they have not
heard? And
how can they hear
without someone
preaching to them? And
how can they preach
unless they are sent? As
it is written,
"How beautiful are the
feet of those who bring
good news!"

Paul In Romans 10:14-15 (NIV) |
